At first I was a little lost
Didn’t know why I was here
I’ve always been a good dog
How did my old life disappear?
For a while I felt forgotten
Couldn’t fathom what I’d done
I missed my usual routine
And the place I used to run
But something quite amazing
Brought lightness in the dark
Lots of lovely people
Searching for my spark
And then one day we found it
While playing in the field
My heart once sad and broken
Was whole again, and healed
So thank you to those people
Who took such good care of me
But now I have to leave you all
As I found a home for me.
I have been adopted.
