Our Story

Pawprints Dog Rescue started back in 2010 when a group of local people discovered that stray dogs were being euthanised after a 7 day holding period if they were not reunited or quickly rehomed.

After nearly 2 years of securing rescue spaces and transporting dogs rescue spaces dried up and by 2012 the situation became desperate and Pawprints Dog Rescue was founded and we started rescuing and rehoming local abandoned dogs ourselves.

In 2021 we purchased our own kennels at Monks Kirby near Rugby, and we now employ 14 members of staff across the organisation supported by more than 100 volunteers.

Our mission is to provide a safe haven for dogs in need and to match them with loving families. We believe every dog deserves a second chance, and we work tirelessly to ensure they receive the care and love they deserve. Our values are rooted in compassion, integrity, and community engagement.

Our Impact

The Power of Community

Our pawprint logo symbolize the steps we take together to create a brighter future for dogs. Each icon represents a core aspect of our mission: rescue, care, adoption, and community. By working together, we aim to reduce the number of homeless dogs and promote responsible pet ownership. Join us in making a lasting impact on the lives of countless dogs and their new families.

Adoption Success Story: Max

Meet Max. Max was found barely able to stand by an articulated lorry driver one cold and wet evening. The lorry driver managed to catch him and call the police. If he had not Max would surely not have made it. Max came to Pawprints after serving his 7 days and has never looked back. Gentle medicated baths to help his poor skin and gentle love and care has seen him flourish .

Max has now found his forever home where he is partial to a spot of gardening and enjoying the sun.
