Lil Pete

Lil Pete the Frenchie is available for adoption at Pawprints Dog Rescue Midlands. This handsome French Bulldog is an incredibly affectionate and social boy who simply loves being around his people. Whether you’re working from home, relaxing on the sofa or pottering around the house, Lil Pete is happiest when he’s close by. He’d make the ideal office assistant, content to snooze (and snore very loudly!) at your feet before wandering into the garden for a spot of sunbathing.

Lil Pete is currently thriving in foster care and has shown that he can be left for a few hours without any problems. That said, he would be best suited to a home where he has regular human company and a predictable routine.

Thanks to his friendly and sociable nature, Lil Pete could happily live with sensible older children who understand how to respect a dog’s space and boundaries. He enjoys human interaction and would love to be included in family life.

Out on his walks, Lil Pete has been happy seeing other dogs and has shown no issues passing them. However, when it comes to home life, he’d much prefer to have his humans all to himself. For this reason, Lil Pete is looking for a home where he is the only pet, allowing him to soak up all the love and attention he deserves.

Like many rescue dogs, Lil Pete is still learning. He has been working hard on his toilet training and is making great progress, but his new family will need to continue this training with patience and consistency as he settles into home life.

When Lil Pete arrived with Pawprints Dog Rescue, he was struggling with severe breathing difficulties. He has since undergone successful BOAS surgery, which has made a huge difference to his comfort and quality of life. While he’s now breathing much more easily, his adopters will still need to understand the ongoing needs of a brachycephalic breed. This includes keeping him cool during warm weather, avoiding overexertion and ensuring his exercise remains gentle and appropriate.

Fortunately, that’s exactly Lil Pete’s style! He’s an easy-going little gentleman who enjoys a leisurely stroll followed by plenty of cuddles on the sofa. He’s not looking for mountain hikes or marathon adventures—just a loving home where he can enjoy life’s simple pleasures with his favourite people.
