Meet Jolene the shaggy gorgeous small sized black lurcher available for adoption at Pawprints Dog rescue in the Midlands

Jolene is a beautiful one-year-old Lurcher who has come such a long way since arriving in our care. When Jolene first arrived, she was a very nervous girl, so we quickly found her a loving foster home where she could settle in at her own pace and begin building her confidence. And what a difference it has made!

Since moving into foster, Jolene has absolutely flourished. She is now a happy, affectionate girl who loves nothing more than snuggling up on the sofa with you for cuddles and fuss. Once she feels safe and comfortable, her lovely personality really starts to shine.

Jolene thrives in the company of other dogs, and having canine companions around has been a huge boost to her confidence. While another dog isn’t essential, she would absolutely love a doggy friend to share her home with and would benefit from having a confident canine companion to learn from.

Of course, Jolene is also a typical young Lurcher, which means there is a playful, energetic side to this girl! She loves her playtime and has plenty of zoomies to get out of her system. For this reason, she will need a secure garden where she can safely enjoy some off-lead time and burn off some of that Lurcher energy.

Jolene could live with children aged 15+ who understand that she may need some space and patience while she settles into a new home. Although she has gained so much confidence in foster, new environments can still feel overwhelming for her, so everything will need to be introduced at Jolene’s pace.

She loves her walks and is beginning to discover that the world isn’t quite as scary as it once seemed. She’s even recently enjoyed a trip to a café with her foster family! These experiences are still very new to Jolene, but with the right support, we hope her confidence will continue to grow. Jolene has already shown us just how much she can blossom when given the chance. She is looking for a patient and loving family who will continue to build her confidence, celebrate her progress and give her the time she needs to settle.

In return, they’ll get a sweet, playful girl who loves a good cuddle, a sofa snuggle and a good old-fashioned Lurcher zoomie.
