💜 Happy Volunteers’ Week from all of us at Pawprints Dog Rescue 🐶
From our dedicated dog walkers to our amazing shop volunteers, from event support and corporate volunteers to foster carers and much more, the help and love we receive from our volunteer family is truly endless.
Every single day, volunteers give their time, skills, energy and compassion to help our dogs and the work we do at our rescue. Quite simply, we couldn’t do what we do without you. There are not enough words to express just how grateful we are for every hour given, every challenge embraced and every life changed through your kindness.
As our CEO and Founder, Anita Twigger, beautifully puts it: “As we mark Volunteers’ Week, I find myself searching for words that feel big enough to express what our volunteers mean to us. The truth is, I’m not sure those words exist…
Every day, our volunteers give their time, energy, compassion and hearts to dogs who need them most. They walk in the rain, clean up messes, transport dogs at unsociable hours, foster, fundraise, support our charity shops, provide comfort, advocate and care. They do it without recognition, without reward and often without anyone seeing the sacrifices they make behind the scenes.
This year has reminded us that what we have here is so much more than a team of volunteers. We are a family.
Earlier this year, we lost one of our much-loved volunteers to cancer. Her loss has been felt deeply across our rescue. In her final weeks and days, I witnessed something truly extraordinary. The love, support, kindness and unwavering presence shown to her by fellow volunteers was beyond anything I have ever seen before. They stood beside her and her family when it mattered most, just as she had stood beside so many others.
It was a powerful reminder that volunteering is not just about helping dogs. It’s about humanity. It’s about people coming together with kindness, compassion and selflessness. It’s about lifting each other up through the hardest moments and celebrating the best ones together.
To every volunteer who has ever given even a single hour to help our dogs: thank you. You are the heart of this rescue. Everything we achieve, every life we save, every dog that finds safety and love, is possible because of you.
I am endlessly grateful, endlessly proud, and honoured to stand alongside such remarkable people.
From all of us at Pawprints – Happy Volunteers’ Week 💜”
We honestly couldn’t do this without you 👏🐾
